Tiny Teamwork

Every once in a while, I receive the question: "Where do you get those little pull carts?"
Well, we make them! 😊

About twice a year the girls and I take a few days to saw, paint, glue, and assemble a BIG batch of pull carts - so that there is always plenty ready-to-roll when new Strays happen to wander in.
The girls are proud to stay true to their Bohemian roots, and their modus operandi is to only use obviously handmade, upcycled, or vintage materials. So the carts are never meant to look new, but more like primitive folk art, and always a little wobbly 😅

Heaps of cotton pull cords are crocheted and attached in quiet evenings, and we paint the wheels in primary colors more for our own amusement than anything else..
Of course each Stray gets to choose their favorite, but animals don't see colors like we do - if at all. So mostly we just help them pick a color that best compliments their fur 💕

And occasionally we create 'deluxe vehicles': with cardboard boxes for cats, wooden fruit crates for dogs, and charming slat baskets for bunnies.
That these might be a little too comfortable, you can see here with our (absolutely-not-helpful) permanent residents Shep, Sprout, and Catkins! 😁

Zolala! Blog

Mostly musings and meanderings about my work as a seamstress and miniaturist, with all of the joy and struggle that comes with it.

Hello!

My name is Zo, and I'm endlessly fascinated with all things small: dolls, animals, miniatures, dioramas..
I feel very fortunate to be able to combine them all in my work!
Sewing doll clothes and bringing little critters to life allows me to do what I love every day - and connects me with some really amazing people all over the world.
